      Carl Franklin McDonald, a Powell Butte resident, passed away on July 29, 2006 at his home in Powell Butte, Oregon. He was 81 years old. His daughters, Carla and Jody, and their husbands were by his side.
         He will be laid to rest in Juniper Haven Cemetery, and there will be no public services. Carl was born on January 16, 1925 in Harlan, Oregon to Clifford F. and Jessie Ann (Brown) McDonald. He was raised in the valley and moved to Prineville in 1943. He married Llota Marie Hager on June 3, 1944 in Prineville. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a fireman in Hawaii. He worked on ranches and later as a diesel mechanic. 
         He is survived by: his daughters Carla and her husband Jerry Brewer, Jody and her husband Willard Schlichting; brothers Clifton, Calvin and Clinton, and sister Maxine Watson; seven grandchildren: Terry, Matthew and Brian Brewer, Jeanette Dobaj, David and Tony Schlichting, and Tisha Murphy; 12 great-grandchildren Shawn, Desiree, LA and Annie Brewer, Phillip and Austin Dobaj, Brittney, Tia, Jaid and Jaron Schlichting Kali Henry and Jessica Murphy; and one great-great granddaughter; Macenzie Brewer. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
         Arrangements are in the care of the Prineville Funeral Home.

  Does anyone have access to a current Deschutes county paper that might have Carl's obit.  I looked online but failed to find the right newspaper unless of course it was never in the paper.   I would love to have the date of the paper and a copy of the text if possible.
