i do not think this man pulled anything. i know of two cems. that have been
destroyed in the last 10 years. its a great thing to find out that no one
would let anyone else destroy a cem. unfortunately, these things happen all
the time and no one seems to care. one of these cems was the old whiskey
hills cem. i went so far as to turn these people in. this cem was a mess
with ivy growing everywhere. the farmer directly behind the cem was cutting
into it with each passing year. i felt another year and he wouls disinter
some of my people bured there. when i turned in a report i was told that
these things happen all the time. now, they had the time and power to
change all this but decided not to. the other cem. was south of pdx. in a
small town where my mother and grandparents were living. there was, at one
time, a small private cem. in a field. when i went there all there was was
a blank field that had been recently tilled, cemetery and all. in fact it
was so recent that the dirt was still black or had that wet look. also on
another note. i interviewed this eldery man in waconda about 15 years ago.
i know he is not still alive. at that time waconda consisted of the house
at the intersection and about 5-8 others. very, very old houses. this man
lived west of 99 on waconda road.
I KNOW ABOUT THE CEM WHERE S.W.R. JONES AND HIS FAMILY ARE BURIED.
interesting and very old.
