Hi Jane,
I looked up Wilburn King on Ancestry.com and there were 37 family trees,
none with 1823 and Tennessee. There were several 1822 and North Carolina
trees however. If you send me the spouse or parent names I'll send you the
contact names to share information with.
There are 20 family trees for Gideon Cox born 1805 Knox County Kentucky, 25
with Su* as the wife, 10 with 2nd wife Fannie.

In 1850 there is a Gideon Cox age 45 in the Oregon Territory, Marion county
(city not stated) census. The wife is Susan age 43 born in Ohio. There are
12 children aged 1 - 21 listed. It looks like the oldest four are born in
Md, the next six in Mo, and the last two in Oregon.

Gideon is mentioned in the Morning Oregonian August 13, 1888. Some is not
readable. The rest says "On the occasion of the last annual reunion of the
Pioneers of Oregon, held in Portland, on the 15th day of June, The(?)
Oregonian(?) contained(?) a list of members of the association. Since then
a much more complete list of those 'who blazed the path of civilization and
laid the foundation of state,' has been obtained. Below is published the
list arranged in alphabetical order:"
Name Cox, Gideon; Arrived 1845, From Mo, Born (nothing), Year (nothing),
Address Salem.
There were hundreds of names on the page.
(Note: I noticed an AJ BLEVENS for the person who mentioned that name
recently.)
