Glen;
YES! that makes a connection, you really have to watch throwing out these
idle questions, you never know who you will end up finding you are related
to.
Hepsabeth Melvin is in my family tree as my first cousin five times removed,
her Uncle Jonathan (notice incredible effort at originality in given names
here, the Johns and Jonathan's in this line just about drive you crazy) is
my 4th great grandfather on mm mother's side. But I have never had any
information on Hepsabeth (we have her as Hepsibah) except date of birth and
death and locations. I don't know if that is just oversight on my part or
never found anything on her.
I would like to exchange info with your niece's ex if possible, if he is
interested I have mountains of information on the Melvin line and others, of
course if he is very strongly interested in that line are, chances are I
have already been in contact with him, but feel free to give him my email
addy; reedsportchapmans at verizon.net. Just as a tidbit to give him, I have
Anna wife of Nathan Melvin as Anna Foster b. 9 Dec 1739 Littleton,
Middlesex, MA d. 14 Dec. 1818 Cambridge, Lamoille, VT dau of Moses Foster
and Mary Rust on whom I have nothing further in my family file but cousin
Phoebe has mountains of research as he and the Brooks family connection are
closely connected and poorly documented.
Also that Shoemaker stuff got me curious, I know we have some kind of
Shoemaker connection, but none in my family tree so will have a hard time
remembering where it is, only know that it is way back there and is in Mom's
family but not Melvins, something to do with the Tacks in Pennsylvania so
not an Oregon list problem, of course I don't see Oregon in this family tree
either, do these Crosses get here eventually?
