DLC is Donation Land Claim.  There have been books published with all
the DLC's, in fact my library has a set of them.  The information
contained in them is wonderful, often even giving the names of the
parents and spouses of the participants.

The Oregon Trail 1852 Emigrants listing has Gearhart, William, DLC 
#1057 Lane County. What is DLC and numbers 1057? Would someone please 
email me back  and let me know the meaning and how I can order the 
document.
