Diane;

What that might mean is Laurel Hill Cemetery, though I don't recall it ever
being called Pioneer anything, that is usually the name of the one at U of O
Campus I believe, I don't remember there being anything called Pioneer
Cememtery in Springfield.

Here is a link describing Laurel Hill, unfortunately it is in a sad state.

I haven't really been doing my share of upkeep either, I am supposed to at
least mow the family graves once a year, I have several relatives in the
Great and Great Great generation buried there. I should have a listing of it
somewhere, but have no idea where.

In reading old family records, I see a notation on David Watkins. Now, I
have been trying to find out where this fellow rests for a long time. In
small faded print, I read---"Burial---Springfield, Oregon ...old p" Is
there a old Pioneer Cemetry in Springfield? He died 4 June 1889. Thanks,
Diane
