I don't know about this one.  1923 would be too late.  He was probably
the son of one of William's father's brothers.  There were a whole lot
of Howell's in that area about that time.

   I found a John Howell, died 6-27-23, age 10 in the IOOF Cemetery in
Milton-

Freewater.  He is not listed in the records of Ford Cemetery that I can
find.  However

do a search for Milton Freewater Cemeteries.  You will find one of the
first two

entries has a "podunk" website.  Scroll down to "cemeteries in or near
Umatilla

County.  You will find three listed including Ford Cemetery.  I clicked
on that and

it showed an entry something similar to "gravestone inscriptions".
Click on that

and you will come up with an alphabetical index.  I clicked on "H" and
found this

John Howell.  Sounds like it might be the same one, but there was no
other

information regarding where he was born, etc......
