What he posted is true if you are an OREGON resident, if
not beware of the $$$ needed.

I sometimes assume others know about resources I've learned about thru the years - your note reminded me that it should be mentioned that death certificates are available from Oregon State Archives for postage and 25cents/copy (last I knew) if they are within certain year range (old). You may already have that info.

Only this week I learned that Missouri death certificates are available in a similar manner (PDF for 1909-1924 and by mail up until 1955). I believe I'd found AZ offered the same resource. Things are always changing but there are some that aren't aware of these resources so I thought I'd mention them.

Thanks everyone who answered my question on Daniel Nofziger, only problem this one is
actually a nephew to the one I'm reseaching. I like the KISS theary, yes I'm a tightwad
also. Most of my research was easy because my ancestors were mostly Mennonite/Amish
& rootsweb has a link to the Mennonite Archives - Mennobits. Wow it was like a whos- who
journal for me. My interest started with the fact that my grandfather, Ezra Burkholder was
raised by Susanna Schrock, may or may not have been his birth mother. A neighbor told me
to check the LDS records. No help there- after lots of years looking probably will never know
answer to that mystery as to why his name was Burkholder.

I am asking the Oregon group this because they are the most helpful. I have a Daniel Nofziger who probably was born in Alsace, dont know for sure when they came to U.S. who is buried (I believe this to be the correct one based on rest of family) who died Feb, 14, 1914 and is buried in Zion Mennonite Cemetery, Hubbard, Oregon. I can't find any further info on him. Lots of Daniel Nofzigers on ancestory but not this one. Any clues did he have a wife etc. would help.
