As long as we are on this subject of asylums I went to the website for
the Oregan State Insane asylum about a year ago. They had quite a lot
of information but one of the things I found most interesting was that
in the late 1800's early 1900's they would put people in the asylum for
being "holy rollers".

The same thing was done at the main State Hospital facility in Salem,
but of course at the time the discusion was made by men so only women
suffered this fate!!!
