Les,
I just looked up the 1930 census and found:
Lorn Dixon, 16 year old son of Tom & Tiddie Dixon living in Toledo,  Oregon
 
Then I looked at the 1920 census and found:
Thomas Dixon, age 41, a widower, living in North Bend, Coos County
with three sons, Melvin, Ronald and Lorne, and his mother-in-law, Jessie  
Anderson.
 
Thomas Dixon was born in Ireland and the three sons were born in  Canada.
 
Therefore, I now readily agree that it was just coincidence and not  
relationship
that had them living in Lincoln County at about the right time.
