[or-roots] Blakely

Dear Midge,
I'm interested in your Blakely line. Years back I interviewed some relatives and asked where their father lived when his parents both died of consumption (tuberculosis) in Douglas County. They all chimed in that he lived with the Blakely's. I asked if they were relatives and they didn't know. That set me off to find out and I discovered that I descend from Moses Aaron Blakely (1758-1837) Rev. War Soldier, whose descendants settled in the Douglas County Oregon valley. Samuel Plumb Blakely was the immigrant of 1852 with his first cousin, Lucy Phinetta Shaff Doolittle Trask. Are these related to your Blakely line of interest?

Denise

Hi there - can I jump in here?

You mentioned that Charlotte Elizebeth Litchfield Dixon's maternal and paternal GG parents were early Oregon pioneers. Do you have those family names? I have a bunch of those also. Thanks, Midge (Dixon, Blakely, Barnes, Lewis, Wittenberg)
