James McCubbins family came from Franklin Co., Missouri  & settled Howell
Prairie/Silverton, Marion Co., Oregon Oct. 9, 1852. 

James & Sons, Zachariah, Samuel & other sons took up several ODLC'S in
Marion Co & Linn Co. It is believed James wife # 1 China died on the trail
to Oregon as did there daughter Rachel who was married to Calvin Dodson in
Franklin Co., Missouri in 1851, one year before they all hit the trail to
Oregon. 
James's son Zachariah also married same day as his sister Rachel did, to
Lucy Nevitt in Franklin Co., Missouri & they also both came to Oregon on the
trail with James. Later on, the sons only & there families moved to Dayton,
Columbia Co., Washington, lived & are buried there, but James lived in North
Salem, Marion Co., Oregon & died Sept. 6, 1877. He was married to Wife # 2
Barbary (Allen-Lewis) McCubbins at that time & they also had two daughters
together Ruth (McCubbins) Leabo & Ellem McCubbins.

To this date,  I still have not found my GGG-Grandfather's grave or who his
siblings or parents were. I can not go back any further in time in the past.
I have done all I could (but not enought I guess) & researched lots, with
lots of help from all of you at or-roots & I thank you! But my James
McCubbins is a thick strong brick wall.. I can not break.

*Also, my GGG-grandparents, Hanson & Lavina (Wickard) Stevens came to Oregon
on the trail from Keokuck, Iowa in 1852 & settled at Silverton, Marion Co.,
Oregon. There daughter Sarah Ellen Stevens married James McCubbins's son
Samuel & had my GG-grandmother Elva Rose McCubbins who married Thomas
Flanagan Dayton, WA.
