Samuel B. Shortridge and son William W. left Mercer Co., IL, in 1852 and 
settled in Lane County Oregon.

James H. Shortridge, son of Samuel B. above, left Mercer Co., IL, in 1851. 
After arriving in Oregon he went to California and then joined his father 
and brother in Lane Co. in 1853.

Charles F. & Emeline (Fields) Shortridge and three children left Mercer Co., 
Il, in 1852 and settled in Yamhill Co., OR.  Charles is a second cousin of 
Samuel B. above.

Squire Thompson & Rebecca C. (Newton) Drury and five children left Mercer 
Co., IL, in 1852.  Squire & Rebecca both died on the trail.  Their five 
children were taken to Oregon where they were placed with several families 
in Yamhill Co.  Squire is the nephew of Samuel B. Shortridge above.

Dr. Charles Drury left Mercer Co., IL, in 1852, apparently leaving his 
family behind.  I don't know where he settled, but he returned to Illinois 
about 1854/55.  Dr. Charles is the first cousin of Squire Thompson above.
