There was still land available after 1900.  My Bartrow family got a land patent in 1906 in Wallowa County.

  I believe the Donation Land Claims ended in 1854 or '56 (can't remember which)  I know they did in Portland area and I think it was territory wide

    LEWIS, Samuel born in England, moved to MN as a child, then to Alberta, Canada.  Asked his son-in-law, Glenn BEAMER (son of Allen Beamer above) where someone could live and not be so cold.  Oregon was mentioned and down they came to Eugene in 1920.
