Okay, this is too weird, you are "rumored" to be related to Zane Grey;

I am trying to find out who my grandfather's parents, siblings or other
relatives are. My grandfather was either JAMES JACKSON GRAY or JAMES M.
GRAY. He was born 3/17/1843 near Nashville, Tennessee. When he was around
17 years old he wanted to fight in the Civil War but his father wouldn't
let him. One night he and some other boys went to his fathers barn and took
his prize stallion and went to war anyway. First thing the horse got shot
out from under him. He served his time in the war but because he lost his
fathers horse was afraid to go back home. As far as I know his parents
may have never known what happened to him. At some point James came to
Oregon where he married my grandmother Susan P. Hurst and lived the rest of
his life there. I have been told he may have lived in North and South
Carolina also. One relative told me that my grandfathers parents came from
Ireland by way of England and into Boston Harbor when they came to this
country. I have done an exhaustive search and so far have found out
nothing. Someone out there must have some family history that includes my
grandfather.
