[or-roots] Birth records / Aliquot parts

How kind of you to offer to help. Her name was Verna Marie Hardwick and
she was born Sept. 11, 1913 in I think Milton Freewater (not positive
about this) She died in or near Portland and I have located her grave
but cannot find her death date. I believe it was sometime before 1919.
Thanks,
Dale

First on Birth records, Dale, hope you tried Sue's link, if you have and
couldn't get what you wanted or don't have adobe, you can email me the
name
of the person you are looking for and particulars, I can see if I can
convert it to something you can use.

Also I second the comment that some birth records are easier to get at
the
county level, delayed birth records in Douglas county are pretty much
"no
questions asked" there are few death certs in Doug co, but most of what
I
couldn't get from county or state I got from mortuaray. I encountered
one
county in Iowa, I think it was that was very nice, cost me like 50 cents
a
page for xerox copies of birth certs of my namesakes in-laws and some of
the
rest of Aunt Mildred's kin, Cal has a lot of stuff available from Vital
Records search site, I have posted here several times, anyone interested
I
can post it again, but Arizona is the peach, free electronic copy of
original document death more than 5o and birth more than 75 years ago,
though I think some of the records are not available, for the life of me
I
cannot find my first step mom's brother Cecil, I guess I should try a
search
for all the cecils, they will probably all be kin.

Illinois I have a link for a search page you can get index of vital
records,
which gives you the bare bones, eg;

FOSTER AMA APP, MARY JANE
01/07/1848 A / 1043 LA SALLE
FOSTER, A HAYS, L E
08/03/1864 00A/0401 JOHNSON
FOSTER, A PORCH HUNTER, EFFIE
03/07/1897 009/0052 00007681 IROQUOIS

that is the marriage index, someday when I am feeling a little more
flush I
may order a few of these just to assuage my conscience for all the info
I
have entered from their index for free.

I think that is about all that I have found for free, except of course
for
the reams of vital records in the books at heritage quest, but those are
a
lot of work.

As to what I wanted to say about aliquot parts is that if anyone is
haveing
trouble understanding them, I can take that gobbledy gook and convert it
to
a small map if you would like, either topo map or aerial photo, or I can
just explain to you where it is.
