There are eleven items for George Bowman, no clue if any of them are your
folks.
There are two John Burrows, neither of which is located in Umatilla county.

Subject: [or-roots] Oregon Ancestors
My Oregon ancestors that I am researching are:
1845 Oregon Trail from Iowa: Captain Levin Nelson English & his first wife
Mary Tucker English, their daughter Malinda English Foss her husband Joseph
H. Foss, and their son William Hartfellers Foss & his first wife (Rhoda)
Emeline Shirts (1852 Oregon Trail) they all settled in Marion County. Other
children of Malinda & Joseph Foss were John, George, Margaret Foss Scott,
and Joseph. (Captain English's second wife was Mary Tate English).
1851 Oregon Trail from Illinois: Drusilla Morgan Price (Mrs. James Price),
and her son James Dallas Price they settled near Albany, Linn County,
Oregon, James Dallas later settled in Umatilla County. Her other children
were Mary (Polly) Price Payne, Matilda Price Churchill, Amanda Price
Rideout, and Nimrod Price.
1852 Oregon Trail from Indiana: George Shirts & his wife Sarah Brock
Shirts, and their daughter (Rhoda) Emeline Shirts Foss. They had DLC's in
both Linn and Marion Counties.
1852 Oregon Trail from Missouri: (John) Thomas Ware (died on the Trail) &
his wife Sarah Mariah Callaway Ware, and their daughter Sidney Coanzy Ware
Woodward. Caleb Woodward came to Oregon in the Fall of 1853(?), and was the
husband of Sidney Coanzy Ware Woodward. They all settled in the Eugene,
Oregon area, and later the Woodward's moved on to Wheeler County, Oregon.
1862 Oregon Trail from Missouri: John Creese Haney & Martha Jane Brown
Haney, and their daughter Letitia Haney Price (Mrs. James Dallas Price -
1851 Oregon Trail). Their other children were Joseph, William, Missouri
Jordan, Cora Burroughs, Pauline, and Sterling Price Haney. They first
settled in Oregon City, then Linn County, and then on to Morrow and Umatilla
Counties.
Early 1870's from Kansas: George Bowman & his wife Margaret Head Bowman,
and their granddaughter Clara H. Mulligan Lofton. Their other grandchildren
were Charles Mulligan and Lillie Mulligan Timms, and George and Margaret
Bowman's sons were George L. Bowman and Frank Bowman - the sons later
settled in the Salem, OR area. Also, came in the early 1870's from Kansas
were Stephen H. Lofton & Nancy Ann Agness Glasscock Lofton, and son Stephen
Henry Lofton (& his wife Clara H. Mulligan Lofton). They all settled in
Grant County, Oregon.
1880's John Burrows & his wife Mary Ann Byrne Burrows from Ohio, and
settled near Pilot Rock, Umatilla County, Oregon.
I did not name every one's children.
Thank you, :-)
Mary Jo Piatt
