Subject: [or-roots] strange birth places
I second that "she sure could have had the kid in the store" comment, I
was
recently chasing down the family of my youngest sister's husband and am
reminded by this conversation of the fact that one of her sister-in-laws
was
on the way to the hospital to deliver, had her husband stop at the
service
station so she could go pee which is no surprise to me since the trip we
made from Telequa trailer park to Cottage Grove hospital for the birth
of my
first son involved a stop at EVERY public toilet more than five miles
from
the previous one.
Her sister got concerned when she didn't come right out and after five
minutes went to check on her and was met at the door by her carrying her
child, she didn't need to go pee, after all, what took her so long was
dealing with the "details"
I don't think I ever told my wife this story, since she was in labor for
24
hours before giving up and going C section, maybe i shouldn't.
