Thank you for the image Sue, I don't know if I had seen that or not, but if
that is Lester you can see why I had trouble tracking him, he may have been
like me an often farmed out child, hopefully not for the same reasons.

I spent a significant portion of my early childhood with my oldest sisters
household because mother should never have had me or my next oldest brother
and was very ill as a result and couldn't deal with a sixth one all the
time. Fortunately for her the older sibs were all much older than me so
could take up the slack. My youngest sister loves to tell my wife stories
about me, fortunately I wasn't too much of a little monster and enjoyed
being outside a lot.

Anyway if I can ever find out for sure if that is my Lester it looks like it
should give me a clue of where to look for his mother's maiden name.

My little brother and his wife were at state archives recently, I should
have thought of asking them to dig into Lester's family while they were up
there.
