Tough nut to crack, this probably is no help, but it is a cemetery listing
for Mist, which apparently is/was near Vernonia;

I believe you can find your person here, I assume all this is going to give
you is a name and what cemetery, but it lists 17,000 records for Columbia
County, I didn't see it, but imageing the web site this is part of has some
provision for queries or requests for lookups.
