>I am researching Samuel Sumner Jr. and his wife Lucinda Jane Moore Sumner, who came to Oregon from Missouri, either in the mid 1870s and left and came back later, or visited their daughter Sarah Jane Sumner Madden in 1877, when she married Dennis Madden March 15, 1877 in Polk County, Oregon. The marriage took place "in the house of Samuel Sumner" in Polk County. She died July 15, 1877 in Polk County and is buried in Etna (AKA Oak Ridge and/or Oak Grove) Cemetery, north of Rickreall. Samuel and Lucinda are listed in the 1880 census back home in Linn Co., Missouri, but Samuel is buried in Etna; he died in 1897 in Polk County. Either it's the same Samuel or possibly his father Samuel Sr. and mother Sarah Clark Sumner, but I haven't been able to clear this up. Samuel and Lucinda's son James Clark lived with his family in Salem and Portland - they are buried in Portland. Sorry to go on and on.
