The Polk County Historical Society Museum has cemetery indexes.

They were very helpful when I contacted them.

They found a grave for me of my husband's gr-gr grandfather who died in 1878 and gave me location information and I was able to drive there and take pictures of the headstone.

  I've already found most information on Orville but have not been able to find a cemetery transcription online for the Fir Cemetery in Monmouth. His Dc shows he was buried in the Knights of Pythias cemetery, which is now "Pythias circle" in the Fir cemetery. But there are about 40 Butlers buried there (as reported by the local caretakers) but I'd like to see a full list. Rootsweb for Polk county doesn't show one. 

  Is anyone familiar with the cemetery or know of a transcription?

  JOSEPH B. V.1 BUTLER was born 1810 in NH, and died Sep 1879 in Polk Co., OR.  He married ELIZABETH INGALLS 09 May 1839 in Pike Co., IL  (Marriage Register), daughter of INGALLS and MARY.  She was born 1821 in OH, and died Abt. 1886 in Polk Co., OR.

  2.  ORVILLE J.2 BUTLER (JOSEPH B. V.1) was born 1840 in Pike Co., Pittsfield, IL, and died 27 May 1927 in Polk Co., OR   (dc)       Monmouth, Fir Crest Cemetery.  He married MARY ANN LEE 04 Oct 1874 in Polk Co., OR    Marriage Certificate, daughter of NICHOLAS LEE and SARAH HOPPER.  She was born 16 Jun 1851 in Polk Co., Dallas, OR, and died 19 Aug 1930 in Polk Co., Monmouth, OR     (dc)       Monmouth, Fir Crest Cemetery.

  Notes for ORVILLE J. BUTLER:
  In 1880 they are in Whitman, WA.  In 1900 Orville is not home.  Orville appears on the death index as Butter.

  Orville died from acute endocarditis with the contributory cause of influenza.  The informant on his death certificate was his son Dean. 

  The cemetery originally was named Knights of Pythias.

  Notes for MARY ANN LEE:
  The 1900 census has Mary with some of the children living in Polk Co. and Orville living in Marion Co.

  Mary died from cancer of the gall bladder and pancreas.  Her daugher Sadie was the informant on her death certificate.

  The cemetery was originally named Fir Crest Cemetery.
