I just ran across this on HQ;

on the title page it purports to be; "register and dictionary of the United
States Army from 29 September 1789 to 2 March 1903.

As near as I can figure it only lists officers, but I am pretty sure if I
check at least some of the Kinsman that I know of were officers, I KNOW some
of the Wisners were, but they may all have been prior to 1789, and am pretty
sure the three Melvins that died in the War of the Rebellion were not all
enlisted men, but none of hte folks I have in my family file are in this
book.

Sort of figures.

I didn't parse it for people serving in Oregon, but it seems to me like it
does mention a geographical listing of some sort.
