I haven't been paying a lot of attention to the cattle brand thread because I didn't think it would be of more than passing interest to me, but it just occurred to me that you might have a brand registered for either or both Francis Marion Chapman or Clare Decker Chapman in Lane county sometime between 1914 or so and when the book was published, though I can't swear we had a brand, I know when the goats were being rustled we had no "proof" of ownership, even when we caught the rustlers red handed with a truck load of our goats the fact they had our ear marks wasn't "proof."
