[or-roots] PS: Need Scanner/printer ideas

I was doing a great deal of business travel and?bought a portable printer scanner about six or seven years ago.? While it was functional, its small size made it a royal pain to use and the additional weight made my laptop case a nuisance in airports.? After a trip from Alaska to Washington DC with a number of plane changes, I decided that the printer scanner would not be traveling with me again.? I agree with the suggestion that a good digital camera with small tripod be used to copy photos and documents...they can be immediately uploaded into the laptop and the quality/readablility checked then and there.? I've used this process and it works great with a little practice.? There are also significant savings when you consider the cost of ink cartridges and paper.? But if your heart is set on a printer/scanner, I like my HP 6310 All-in-One (printer, scanner, fax) that cost less than $200 and weighs about seven pounds.? If you're traveling by automobile, it's small enough to tuck in just fine.

Which is exactly why I'm looking. My original scanner has a parallel port connection; but, of course

the laptop doesn't.
