Cecil, I need you!

Alas, too late I have a question I am sure he could have answered, but
hopefully someone else still has an interest in that Surname;
In my Del Norte cousins one of them marries a Laura M. Hauck (Surname from
Ruth Smith's History which is a great resource, but the spellings sometimes
miss the mark) who lists herself in 1900 as born Sept 1879 in Oregon. She
married John M. Johnson abt 1899.

Now I can't find any Hauck's much of anywhere, but especially not in Oregon.
I do find in Waldo in Josephine county 1880 Census a Laura Houck age 9/12
which being a June Census fits a Sept 1879 birt date pretty well. She is dau
of David and Hilla A. Houck. The birth places of the parents match those
listed in the Census so I am inclined to just go ahead and put them in my
family file with the warning as always that they are there solely on Census
info. I know that isn't right, but I have so many of those in my family file
already it doesn't bother me a bit.

But before I do I thought I would see if anyone on the list is following
that line and knows more about them than I can find. I am pretty sure
Cecil's stuff is still out there somewhere and would probably give me my
answer, but I can't seem to find it. I may even have the answer on my
computer, but haven't found it yet.

All I ask by the way is confirmation that my Laura is the same one I find in
Waldo, I have just about everything else I could need.

Well, that's annoying, my search says I don't have anything on my computer
with Houck in it except the Census mentioned above. Since I remember running
across a web page with Cecil grinning back at me on here a few months ago I
must have named it something confusing. That's the firs time that's
happened.
