Thank you Stephenie for that valuable info. It always helps to have stuff  
repeated. I didn't know most of that or at least about the coma at the end 
of a  name.

I have been taking up a  lot of genealogy time lately so I thought it was 
about time I shared some  research tips I use when doing a search on the web. 
 You may be aware of  all of them but maybe someone can get some use out of 
 them. 
Try using these search  phrases in the search engine you use: 
Genealogy + database +  surname (if you put a comma at the end of the 
surname it will help cut on  searches you don’t want.  An example would be if you 
were searching for a  surname of Michaels a comma would help eliminate 
Michaelsons).  I use  this trick all the time when searching the Oregon State 
Archives online  database 
genealogy + surname (it  will bring up private sites that you may not be 
aware of.  I hope you  aren’t searching Smith.) 
Cemetery + cemetery name +  state (this is useful if you are seeking a 
particular cemetery and know the  name.  Brings up private sites you may not be 
aware  of) 
When you are on a website  searching for a particular name you can go to 
the Edit function at the top of  the page in Explorer, choose Find on this 
Page and type in the name you are  seeking.  It will then move forward to each 
instance of that name when  you click on Next.
