I stumbled across this and thought I'd pass it along. The Copyscape people are the ones behind Google Alerts and offer a free tier of protection among their products.

The Google Alerts are are a nice way to get updates in your inbox for web related references on "dead end" ancestors if you haven't tried it yet.
