as part of the 'OUR Town' column by Paul A Davis, a sort of who's 
visiting, who's traveling, who's done something notable column

JAMES BOYD REED, 85, former president of the Three-Quarter Century club, 
widely known here, died in Seattle, Wash., Sept. 25th, according to word 
sent here by his widow ... previously it had been rumored that the 
well-known resident here for six winters had passed on ...

Mr. Reed was credited by associates with being one of the principal 
workers in the national movement for the railwaymen's federal pension 
act, and a two ton boulder commemorating his activities in pension work 
was to have been dedicated at Auburn, Wash., the Sunday following his 
death ... the ceremonial being temporarily postponed by his unexpected 
death. ... A  retired engineer for the Northern Pacific railway, Mr. 
Reed belonged to most of the Masonic bodies of this city ... the family 
had a home at 2357 Woodlawn circle ... had planned to return ...
