Bsides Stephenies Site, The Oregon California Trails Association maintains a site about the various trails, but most of it you must be a member to access the data, and they do have a number of books on the trails.

Glen Portland, Oregon

PS: The Oregon California Trails convention is in Loveland Colorado this year, I believe, last year it was in Nampa Idaho, and I was able to attend That.

Subject: [or-roots] Wagon Trains 101

BlankMy family came by wagon train in 1859 to Genoa ( formerly Mormon Station) Nevada, relocated to WallaWalla, WA in 1883 and part of them branched off to establish a ranch in Wallowa, OR in 1893. The question is how does one determine what trail was used and what train they were part of? The balance of their train continued on into CA. Can you also suggest a few good reads or websites on this topic? Thanks !
