Yes, Molly is often a nickname for Mary as Sally is often a nickname for Sarah. There is a book out that I have seen that is just about nicknames. Like Peggy for Margaret and all the ones for Elizabeth (a bunch). Remember John Kennedy went by Jack, etc. Names can really mess you up if you don’t learn all the forms they can take.

Is Mollie acceptable for Mary? The Families of Flora list a J.R. Lightle (one of mine) married to a Mollie Stone with two children Roy & May but I have to pop back over to Washington State to follow that line through.
