Thanks for this message. Yes, I do have this from Terry, but I appreciate your sending it. Sometimes when I re-read something, some new item pops out that I did not really SEE before...

I have not looked as much as I should in Pierce Co., WA for obits. and/or funeral, burial information for Moses F. Drake because he died in Portland in 1905, and there was no family informant at all on the death cert. #317. He is identified as "single." He had lived in Oregon for 12 years.

He was married in 1858 IL, and divorced from Phoebe Halstead Drake in 1890 WA. I got the divorce papers from WA State Library, and they are so sad; he sounds very confused, denies all allegations of "abandonment" and does not want to be divorced. The "Hillside" poor farm record at Mult. Co. has some medical records that they won't release to me, so I do not know what his problem was other than that he died of "senility."

My husband knew nothing about his great grandmother Melissa Adelia "Della" Drake Reed, a daughter of Moses and Phoebe, until this summer. The two descendants of their son Ira Chandler Drake (Melissa's older brother) that I correspond with have no information on Moses F. Drake. He is not in the family group sheets, and one of them only knew of him as M.F. or F.M. Drake. After 1890 in WA, he like disappeared...
