Diane, about the Dr. Royal. There was a family of ministers who came to Oregon in 1853 on the Preacher Train via the Applegate Trail route. That family has published a book called The Royal Way West. Rev. William Royal preached the first sermon in Jackson County when he arrived in 1853. He became the first headmaster of Umpqua Academy in Douglas County. Subsequently hs son Fletcher Royal, also a Methodist minister settled first in Jacksonville where he was a newspaper editor for a while, and then became the headmaster of Ashland Academy, the pioneer forerunner of Southern Oregon University. Perhaps one of their sons is your missing Dr. Royal. Bob Casebeer

Subject: [or-roots] anyone know these people?
A couple of us are trying to locate information on 'lost' people in the Paisley, Lake, Oregon cemetery. We do have a list!!
First one ---does anyone have an F. S. Nimna in their records? No death date.
I have looked in Ancestry.com and FamilySearch, even Googled the name.
Nothing.
Will be looking at newspapers in time, but hopefully can come up with something sooner than having to spend hours reading old newspapers!!!
The second unknown is Mrs. S. Ainsworth (with baby).
We also have an H. Bean.
Also, Lillian Montazet.
Or, how about William B. Royal, M.D. and wife or daughter (perhaps named Lily). Dr. Royal died in 1892.
We also have a Frank Elder who perhaps died in 1976.
Thanks for your help.
Diane
