    IOF stands for International Order of Foresters.  They were an insurance company and I remember my parents joining in the 50's.  They promised to take care of orphans if  their parents were "members" and I think they had orphan homes set up around the country.  They would also bury you.  I remember they were a big deal a long time ago and I even marched in a parade once that was a group of us who were all "members".
