Switching over to Matneys, how does the date of Walter J's probate 
compare to Captain Jack's capture on June 4th, or the execution of the 
four Modoc leaders on October 3rd?  Events of 1873 regarding the Modoc 
Indians are rather carefully chronicled, and there are a number of 
well-researched texts regarding such -- examples:
