That was all I found in GenealogyBank.com - I was hoping for something about
the drowning death you mentioned in 1963.

Have a great day. Denise

Subject: [or-roots] Need a Oregon death index lookup

Had a visit from a couple (oddly enough who live in Prineville Glen??) today
who were looking for a photo of one of the old family homes. I couldn't help
her with that, but it was a very interesting visit and in the course of it
she mentioned a fellow who lived in a houseboat on the river near Reedsport
having drowned.

In the course of the discussion it appears that she was talking about my
wife's great Uncle Henry F. Boye, All I have on him is that he was born
about Jan 1881 and that he died in 1963. I don't have a source for the date
of death so do not know how reliable it is, but the birth date is from the
1900 Census. It is hard to say if this is right or not. I have dates for
four of his siblings from death notices and the census dates for the two I
have older than Henry are off by a year, while the dates for the two
youngest children are right. But the date for the father is off by ten
years, assuming I have the correct info for him.

I am interested in this as I am hoping to track down something on it in the
paper. If indeed he did drown, that is an oft repeated theme in our family
and I find it curious I don't remember his having done so as I knew the
gentleman slightly. He was a somewhat scandalous fellow as he had a live in
housekeeper. I also met her and can remember my folks discussing the
arrangements after we hit the road again the time I visited him. Odd that so
many of my memories of earliest childhood are from here on the coast which
we only visited rarely and then I end up spending the greater part of my
life here, married to one of my kin from here.
