Dale; I am a bit mystified by this, I can't find Noah Hardwick in 1910 or 1920 Census; the death index does give some names in that time frame that might be your family, but none in Multnomah county, they are all over the state. There is a Verna May;
Harvey, Verna May26 June 1915Multnomah2474
she is the closest Verna to your gal. Searching for Marie beginning with H produces no match even close.

Since I don't know the exact year or date of my aunt's death but know that it was sometime around 1914 or 1915 and she was a child. Is there anyway of knowing if there was some sort of epidemic in that time frame in Portland? I know she is buried in the old pioneer cemetery in Portland and I have contacted them but they only have a record of her being buried there with two of her siblings and a step mother (all in the same area).
I would really like to know the date of her death and what she died from but can't find a death record.
Her name was Verna Marie Hardwick and her parents were Noah Hardwick and Venus Howell.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Dale in California.
