Some of these things would be good for my website.
But, seems I missed em.
Nice some one saved all that, mainly the Journals.

    Hi Listers!

I recently acquired a scrapbook of newspaper clippings from the Oregonian dating between 1933 to 1935. The clippings are all about Royalty, kidnappings and the whole Charles Lindbergh thing is in there, including the trial for the couple who were accused. Movie stars, local music and radio. There is a photo of Morey Amsterdam doing his radio thing. Marriage announcements and obits and lots of articles about the Catholic religion. There is a fabulous story about the group of nuns who traveled here from Europe to start a school and the hardships they endured and there is a list of schools. My property, here in Beaverton, was rumored to have had a Catholic girl's school on it but was not mentioned. There is an antique Catholic cemetery across Murray Blvd. next to a large Baptist church. The stones are all dated around 1880 but I have never been able to find anything about the school. My neighborhood is called Marysville and it is just two blocks from Hwy 26 on Murray towards Beaverton. It is not really in the city limits of Beaverton but our address is Beaverton. I have seen the history of the early settlers of this neighborhood but still no mention of the school or church that must have been next to the cemetery.

Anyway, my neighbor has given me a small stack of mostly ruined Oregonian newspapers dating from the 20's. Some say Oregon Journal and they are in the large format. I would like to offer these to anyone who might like to have them. I couldn't resist getting the scrapbook at a garage sale for 50¢ but I am not trying to acquire any more things. (So, why am I going to garage sales?) : ) So, anyone who would be willing to pay the postage can have these things and I am offering them here because of the interest in Oregon I think you all must have. There is no telling what you might find. Some of the articles are not pasted at the bottom and you can lift them and read what is on the back. I saw an article they were still talking about prohibition which I thought was over by 1933 but maybe it was still in affect until 1936?

So, I'll take the first person who says they would like to have these and if you send me your zip code I will be able to tell you how much it will cost to send you the items.

    Thanks!
