?  or ?  in numbers should not be confused with a degree symbol. 

?  or ? in written languages is an ordinal indicator.  It is a sign adjacent to a numeral denoting that the number is an ordinal number rather than a cardinal number, such as 7 ?

Whether the ?  or ? sign used varies in different languages.

Hi everyone,
 
I was asked a question today that stumped me.  Go to the following link to see what I am talking about:

There is a symbol next to some of the numbers.  I would normally associate this symbol with temperature or degrees.  This doesn't make sense in the context of the information.  It must have something to do with the date the person was born.
 
Anyone know what it means?

That is true, but that  symbol is not a degree symbol in those cases, but is the superscript 'o'. The use is derived from the Spanish language for denoting primary numbers in scientific writings.
