One of my cousins stopped in for a visit recently and asked me what I knew about our grandpa's siblings which it turned out wasn't much, but then we got on the subject of his family and he mentioned being asked about family history recently by a cousin on him mom's side so I fired up the genealogy hard drive and showed him some things about his family he was unaware of and it turned out his cousin is a descendant of the "stationary Engineer."

Here is what I have on them;

6.  ETTADELILAH4MILLER(ADEN3, WILLIAMSTOCKTON2, GEORGE1)81,82was born 18 July 1891 in Oregon83,84,
and died 20 July 1914 in Lane Co., Oregon84.  She married THOMASLEEMONTEITH8504 October 1911 in Lane Co., Oregon86,
son of THOMASMONTEITHand PALLIEQUEEN.  He was born
16 February 1888 in Beta, Jackson Co., North Carolina87,88,
and died 12 December 1951 in Olympia, Thurston Co., Washington89.

Notes for ETTADELILAHMILLER:
I do not know exactly
when the William Stockton Miller family moved to the Cottager Grove area, but
it is possible that Etta was born and died in Walker. Given the family is in
Saginaw census in 1910 and Aunt Hazel was born there and Aden is still there with
Etta's widower and child living with him in 1920 assuming Etta was there her
whole life is not too much of a stretch. Les C. 2013

Notes for THOMASLEEMONTEITH:
Family search Birth
index gives eighteenth for birth day. Les C. 2013

I have Etta's father's line back to George born in TN in 1785,  I haven't found or else haven't looked for her mother's ancestry, I suspect the latter as I seem to remember searching and being confounded by search engines insisting on giving me Dixon information;

He married FRANCESVALENTISTHIXON55,56,57,5831 January 1890 in Lane Co., Oregon59.  She was born 14 February 1873 in Missouri59,60,
and died 27 October 1952 in Marion Co., Oregon61.

anyway what I am trying with no success is to pin down the story on the daughter, I can't remember if it is her or a child of her's my cousin was in contact with, but she is a complete enigma. I find her living with her widowed father in and her maternal grandparents in 1920 which explains her interest in the family as Aunt Hazel is also in that house in that census. After that no trace of her. I haven't tracked down all the Aunts, Uncles and cousins yet in 1930, and in fact only found her father in that census by querying his second wife on Family search, but I suspect she must be listed as something besides Helen (Hellen in 1920) in 1930 as I feel like P fairly well searched through all of them in CA, OR, WA and ID who were born between 1912 and 1914. I also turn up nothing on Google west of the Mississippi and several other possible searches either find nothing or all the Helen Monteith's are mothers of children born before 1900 which is a pretty good
 trick for someone born about 1913.

I have Daddy and second wife in 1940 census also and their marriage license from Wasshington digital archives, but have had no luck in any marriage index for a Helen Monteith either.

I am hoping someone can come up with a confirmed birth date for her, I suspect it may be real close to her mother's date of death, which I can check on the next time I make contact with cousin Phyllis in Cottage Grove if there happened to be an obituary, I found no mention of her death in the Register Guard.

I would also be even more delighted to know if and whom she married.
