An Invitation to Participate--- (copied from website http://www.oregon150.org/email.html)
In 1959, Oregonians across the state commemorated its 100th anniversary of Statehood. Today, preparations for the 150th anniversary are under way for the 2009 sesquicentennial. Oregon 150, a non-profit corporation, was formed to raise funds and provide overall policy direction for the Sesquicentennial. The Governor will soon appoint approximately 30 citizens from across Oregon to serve on the Board of Directors for Oregon 150. With their direction, a strategic plan will be developed that includes all Oregonians, provides a clear vision and goals, encourages and supports planning at the local community level, establishes avenues of resources and funding and leaves a positive legacy for the state.
Oregon 150 has engaged The COBI Group to coordinate several "listening sessions" in order to gather your input regarding our state's sesquicentennial commemoration. The goal is to gather ideas from the public at large to complement a strategic plan outline developed in May of 2005.
