[OR_Archaeology] Job announcement- SHPO GIS Archaeologist

Attached please find a job description for a new limited duration
position here at the Oregon SHPO.  This position will be devoted solely
to the clean-up and correction of data in the archaeological GIS data
system.  As you may know, this system has been operational--and well
used--for a couple of years, but there are a substantial number of
omissions and errors that need to be addressed before the system is the
reliable and comprehensive resource we expect it to be.

We anticipate that the work will extend for 18-24 months, though, as
you will note, the current job offering extends only until June 30,
2007.  This is simply the way we have to handle limited duration
positions, which cannot extend from one biennium to another without
being re-authorized.

This clean-up project is SHPO's highest priority project for the next
two years, so we really hope to find a well-qualified candidate who is
experienced and eager to help bring this project to completion.
