2007 Cultural Lobbying Day
Monday, April 30, 2007
Oregon State Capitol and the Elsinore Theatre, Salem

The day's activities will include a seminar on learning how to lobby and what is contained in CHAMP, meeting your legislators, participating in exhibits and demonstrations at the Capitol, a parade from the historic Elsinore Theatre to the Capital, a rally on the Capitol steps, and an evening of performances at the Elsinore. A full schedule and more details will come.

CHAMP is a $10.6 million funding package in Governor Ted Kulongoski's recommended budget for the 2007-09 biennium.  It includes cultural reinvestments totaling $10.6 million to fund the Oregon Arts
Commission's Creative Oregon Initiative, the Oregon Historical Society, Oregon Public Broadcasting, the Oregon Film and Video Office, and the new Oregon Main Street Program. Cultural Lobbying Day is coordinated by the Cultural Advocacy Coalition, Oregon Arts Commission, Oregon Cultural Trust, Oregon Historical Society, Oregon Office of Film and Video, Oregon Public Broadcasting, and the State Historic Preservation Office.
