Portland Archaeology Day
Saturday, October 25, 2008 A.D.

Portland State University (PSU) Park Blocks

Did you know, archaeology is right here in Portland?  Come learn about
the archaeology that is all around you.  Please join us in the PSU
Park Blocks this Saturday, October 25th from 10 am - 2pm for this fun,
FREE, all-ages event.  Learn about the history of Portland through
archaeology, meet real archaeologists and sign up to win a day with
one.  Sign up for Oregon Historical Society's new student membership
rate, and participate in hands-on activities that include:

Artifact Analysis (identify historic artifacts)
Atlatl Technology (throw a spear)
Basketry Technology (watch basket weaving)
Fanual Analysis (identify animal bones)
Flintknapping (watch stone tool creation)
Groundstone Technology (crush hazelnuts with a mortar and pestle)
