[OR_Archaeology] UO Northern Great Basin Field Schools

Dear All,

Here are the University of Oregon Northern Great Basin field school fliers. We are offering 3 very different educational experiences this year. The largest field school will be at the Sheep Mountain Clovis site (25 students) where the Geoarchaeology (Instructor: Dr. William Lyons) field school will be taught with the archaeology (Instructor: Dr. Patrick O'Grady)  field school. This is a primitive field camp with port-a-potties, hauled in water, and solar showers. Paisley Caves (Instructor: Dr. Dennis Jenkins) is a small school of 6 students with accommodations at the school dormitory in Paisley. School dates (June 22-July 31)and price of tuition, food, accommodations, and transportation ($2,700) are the same for all schools. E-applications are available by visiting UO website and searching for Northern Great Basin Prehistory Project. Paisley Caves students will learn how to recover ancient specimens without contaminating them with modern DNA.

I will be appearing on Oregon Public Broadcasting's Field Guide on March 26th (8:30 p.m.) and again on the 29th at 6:30 p.m. Prospective students should watch if they want to see the field school, Paisley Caves and up date themselves on the ancient DNA work being conducted there.
