The Oregon Archaeological Society (OAS, a non-profit) is sponsoring a lecture by the Italian archaeologist, Dr. Angelo Fossati, titled Unraveling the Secrets of Otzi, the Iceman: His Life, Times, and Death , on May 30th.
Otzi is the name given to the well-preserved body of an ancient man locked in ice for centuries that was discovered in the Tyrolean Alps in 1991. The area in which he was found was along an ancient trade route. Dr. Fossati has been involved in researching Otzi since he was found. Fossati will shed light on the period that Otzi lived, some ideas about how he got where he was found, what happened to him, and show evidence of mythology of the conflict that led to his death.
