Fort Vancouver National Historic Site has begun planning on the East and South Vancouver Barracks Master Plan. An environmental assessment (EA) will be prepared as part of this effort. Scheduled for completion in 2011, this Master Plan will establish clear direction for the rehabilitation and public use of the East and South Barracks. The National Park Service will assume ownership of this site after the U.S. Army Reserve transfers it to Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.

Your input on important issues and alternatives is welcome and will be addressed in the
Master Plan EA. Scoping comments will be accepted from March 20 through May 1, 2010.

Please join us for one of the two public scoping meetings and site walks at the Red Cross
building, located at 605 Barnes Street within the Vancouver National Historic Reserve, on
the northeast corner of Barnes Street and Hatheway Road.

Wednesday, April 7, 2010, 12-2pm and 6-8pm

You can obtain more project information and updates, sign up for the mailing list, and submit comments online at http://parkplanning.nps.gov/fova or by calling the park at (360) 816-6212.
