Contract Employee Vacancy Announcement

Summary of Duties:

This is a part time position at 32 hours per week. 

§	Planning, developing and executing strategies for obtaining
private donations; identifying, cultivating, soliciting and preparing
proposals for grants and gift prospects from individuals, corporations
and foundations. 
§	Developing annual and special campaigns, to include corporate
and foundation support, major and planned giving; identifying,
soliciting, stewarding, maintaining and upgrading Museum’s donor
base.
§	Providing stewardship in recognition of all donor philanthropy.

§	Compiling financial reports, and sending thank you notes and
acknowledgments.
§	Providing on-going promotion of planned giving opportunities.  
§	Planning and managing fund-raising events. 
§	Identifying and utilizing all available resources, including
volunteers, staff, publications and the internet, to identify linkage,
ability and interest of potential donations. 
§	Providing leadership for all external relationship building with
a variety of constituencies, including the communication activities that
support relationships between the Museum and its constituents, such as
trustees, veterans, donors, and friends, that could support the
Museum’s Development Office donation and funding opportunities. 
§	Maintains records of all past and current approaches to outside
funding sources. 

Required Experience

Applicants applying at this level must have 12 months experience in
positions that demonstrate the following:

1.	Skill in administrative tasks and knowledge of office
productivity and workflow. 
2.	Demonstrated success in activities that coordinate, attract, and
close major gift funding, including face-to-face solicitation of
significant gifts.
3.	Demonstrated success and evidence of ability to plan and execute
a fund drive.
4.	Demonstrated leadership, management, and administrative skills
that articulate the critical role of philanthropy, and that motivate and
stimulate founders, donors, and foundations.

Special Information

1.  The incumbent must be able to obtain a ‘SECRET’ security
clearance at the time of selection.
2.  This is Contract position and membership in the Oregon National
Guard is not required. The Oregon Military Department is a Drug Free
Workplace.
