ORGANIZATIONS OFFERING CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIPS
The State Historic Preservation Office and several national and
regional organizations have deadlines during the next two weeks for
conference scholarship applications.
The State Historic Preservation Office offers the Elisabeth Walton
Potter Historic Preservation Advocacy and Education Awards that provide
recipients with financial assistance to help defray travel expenses to
historic preservation-related conferences and workshops. The application
deadline is May 28. Award information and applications are available at

The American Association for State and Local History's small museums
committee offers three $500 scholarships to the AASLH annual meeting and
conference. To qualify, the applicant must work for a museum with a
budget of $250,000 or less and complete the application form at
www.aaslh.org/SmallMuseums. The application deadline is May 28. For

conference will take place Sept. 22-25 in Oklahoma City.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation has a Diversity
Scholarship Program that provides financial assistance to community
leaders from diverse backgrounds to attend the National Preservation
Conference Oct. 27-30 in Austin, Texas. The program provides financial
assistance to approximately 60 community leaders from diverse
socio-economic, racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds to attend.

The website currently features a video produced by Gwen Trice of
Enterprise, who received a program scholarship last year. The
application deadline is June 1.
The Western Museums Association offers the Wanda Chin Professional
Development Support Fund for travel and registration for students,
incoming professionals and mid-career professionals. The WMA will have
its annual conference Oct. 17-20 in Portland. The conference program is

Scholarship applications have a postmark deadline of June 1.
