Lithic Technology Field School, June 11-June 24, 2011

I would like to draw your attention to a great training opportunity. We
are offering a field school in lithic technology with the objective of
preparing archaeologists to undertake technological analysis of
lithic debitage. The program is an intensive immersion in the
fundamentals of analysis of lithic debitage and reduction sequences.

The instructors are J. Jeffrey Flenniken and James C. Woods, who
are among the leading practitioners of the replication and study of
prehistoric collections of flaked stone artifacts—and veteran instructors
in lithic technology. The field school is scheduled for late spring
(June 11-24, 2011) and will be held at the California Desert Studies
Center west of Las Vegas.

The organizers of this field school are hoping that you will find this
rare opportunity compelling and will join us in advancing the field of
lithic technological analysis. Deadline for enrollment is May 15.
An informational flyer and a registration form can be downloaded at
